How to Buy a Used Car From a Dealer in Pakistan
The advantage of a verified dealer
You still have to inspect the car and check the documents. What a verified showroom gives you is a registered business with a location and a reputation — someone to go back to if something is not as described, which a roadside private seller does not offer.
Do your price homework first
Know the realistic range for that model, year and condition before you walk in. Dealers price with some room to move; if you know the range, you know whether the asking price is fair and how much room there likely is.
Inspect properly, every time
Daylight walkaround for panel gaps and paint match. Ask directly about accident history and why the car is being sold. Take it to your own mechanic — a dealer confident in the car has no reason to refuse. Match the odometer against the service history.
Negotiate on facts
Bring up specific things — tyres near the end, a service due, a small dent — rather than just asking for a round-number discount. Concrete points give the dealer a reason to move and you a stronger position.
Confirm the file before you pay
Registration book, transfer history, no outstanding token or dues, and that the showroom has the right to sell the car. Agree who handles the transfer and by when, in writing.
