Used Car Prices in Pakistan: What Determines the Market Value?
The baseline: make, model, variant, year
This sets the ballpark. A specific variant can be worth noticeably more than the base model of the same car and year, so be precise about which one you have.
Mileage — but only alongside condition
Lower mileage helps, but a low-mileage car in poor condition is not worth more than a higher-mileage car that has been looked after. Buyers price the two together.
Condition and originality
Service history, tyre and brake wear, interior state, and whether the body and paint are original all move the figure. Accident history lowers it even when the repair was done well, because it introduces uncertainty.
Documentation
A clean book, a simple transfer history and no outstanding dues add value. A messy file costs the seller money, because the buyer is pricing in the hassle of sorting it out.
Timing and demand
Fuel prices, the time of year, new-model launches and the current supply of a given car all nudge the number. The same car can fetch a different price two months apart for reasons that have nothing to do with the car itself.
