Car Inspections and Reservations
Reserve a car for 1–3 days while you inspect it, and book a verified professional car inspector near you through Motrade. How requests, inspector offers and reports work.
Updated 29 September 2026
After the price is locked, you can hold the car while it's inspected. You choose whether to check it yourself or have Motrade find a professional inspector.
Reserve the car
- 1
Request an inspection
From the deal, choose how long you need: 1, 2 or 3 days. The dealer can also request one.
- 2
The other side accepts
Once accepted, the car is reserved for that window and marked Reserved — inspection in progress on the Marketplace.
- 3
Choose how to inspect
Pick I'll arrange it myself to agree a viewing time directly, or Find me an inspector.
Book a professional inspector
- 1
See the shortlist
Motrade shows nearby verified inspectors ranked by distance, rating and response time, with their services, prices and reviews.
- 2
Chat and agree the fee
Message an inspector before requesting them. You can accept their listed price or send a price offer.
- 3
Request the inspector
Send the request. If they don't respond in time, Motrade automatically tries the next best inspector — or tap Try the next inspector now instead of waiting.
- 4
Get the report
The inspector visits and submits a report before the timer runs out. The deal shows Inspection report ready.
- 5
Rate the inspector
Leave a rating and review so other buyers can choose well.
If no inspectors cover your area yet, you'll see No inspectors available in your area — arrange the inspection yourself instead. Every inspector has a public profile with their services, prices and reviews.
After the inspection
Happy with the car? Go to final confirmation. Found a problem? Talk to the dealer — they can submit a different final price — or cancel the deal and the car is released.
